Somekawa worked as illustrator for the catalonian newspaper AVUI from 1994 to 2015
In 2013, Somekawa designed a wine label for the Spanish winery TORRES. This label was specially ordered by TORRES for the Year of Spain in Japan, which commemorated 400 years of exchanges between these two countries. They produced 20.000 bottles for the occasion.
